Getting Some Tips to Quit Smoking

Whether you have been a smoker for the last 30 years or for the past three, it can be incredibly hard to quit smoking. The commercials make it sound so easy and people will throw information down your throat to the point you sometimes feel dumb for not knowing how to stop. You have heard all about how terrible it is for your health and for the health of those around you but for whatever reason, you just cannot seem to break the habit, even though it is extremely important to you.

But there are a lot of things like tips to quit smoking that you can use in order to get set on the right path. While there are medications that can help you, a lot of medical insurance plans simply do not cover the cost and the medication is often too expensive for someone to go and buy for him or herself without help. There are also a lot of strange ways that are said to be tips to quit smoking such as the power of suggestion but there has never been any true documented fact about the long-term effect and power that it holds.

A New Way

With all of the tips to quit smoking filtering through on the internet and television ads, it is no wonder why people don't start realizing that those things must not work, or work at in the long term, or there would not be so many people still needing tips to quit smoking. There is a much simpler and cheaper way to go about kicking the habit and you will no longer have to suffer through the tips to quit smoking that just do not get the job done and waste your time and efforts.

Let's say for example that you smoke exactly 20 cigarettes a day and this has been your routine for a while now. The next day, instead of listening to all those tips to quit smoking, just smoke one cigarette less. Yes, that is all, just one less cigarette and that is all it takes to start your new beginning. Smoke 19 cigarettes for five days or so and then on the next day, smoke one less. Now you are smoking only 18 cigarettes a day instead of 20. Depending on you, you may need to stretch these out for seven-day periods but after a while, you will gradually see your need for smokes will lessen.
