Plenty of Reasons To Quit Smoking

When you have been smoking for awhile, it might seem like you have no reasons to quit smoking. In fact, many people continue to smoke for a long time simply because they cannot see that there are any. Yet, there are plenty of reasons to quit smoking, and if you take the time to learn a little bit about smoking and what it can do to you, you will see that there are more reasons to quit smoking than you could ever imagine.

Health

Health is the number one of the reasons to quit smoking. There are so many different aspects of your health that are affected by smoking. There are more than thirty different chemicals that are in cigarettes, and each time you smoke one you are inhaling lethal doses of these chemicals. Not only that, but all of the chemicals that are in the cigarettes have proven to cause cancer, which means that each time you smoke you are putting yourself at risk for cancer. More people die from cancers related to smoking than from any other types of cancers.

If being healthy alone is not all of the reasons to quit smoking that you need, you can look at the cosmetic side of things. Smoking turns your teeth yellow, and makes your breath bad. It will also get into your hair, your skin, and your fingers. You will always smell like smoke, and you will find that your skin is dryer, your hair is not as shiny, and your overall appearance suffers. Not only that, but smoking ruins your teeth and destroys your ability to smell and taste like you should be able to do. These are all very valuable reasons to quit smoking.

There are other reasons to quit smoking that you might want to consider. First of all, whenever you smoke near someone else, you are poisoning them in just the same way that you are poisoning yourself. This means that if you smoke around your children or allow them to be exposed to smoke, it will ruin their health as well as yours. Second hand smoke is extremely harmful, and getting rid of it might be all of the reasons to quit smoking that you need.

If you cannot see that there are plenty of reasons to quit smoking you should do some more research on the subject. The fact remains that not only are there reasons to quit smoking, there are simply no reasons to do it.
