A Few Facts about Smoking Pipes

When we think about pipe smoking, the faces first strike our imagination are the faces we respect for long decades such as Einstein, Sherlock Homes and others. In fact, pipe smoking has a rich cultural value in many countries around the world. Many people, especially beginners, wonder how to and where to start with pipe smoking. Let us explore few facts about smoking pipe in this article.

Pipe smoking is all about ultimate relaxation. Since tobacco smoking was discovered, it has been considered as an ideal pastime for many people, irrespective of gender. Smoking pipe is a combination of art and science. The first and foremost important phase is to pack the pipe with the tobacco of individual preference. The next important step incorporates the lighting phase. If you are a beginner, learning how to smoke using pipe may take some quality time.

Packing a Pipe with Tobacco

The most important of all is to clean the pipe thoroughly so that it becomes free from any ashes from previous smoking. To do the pipe cleaning, you may try running a pipe cleaner via the stem and then blow it out in order to ensure that nothing is blocking the air passage.

The next phase is to prepare the tobacco. Take the amount you would like to smoke. Place it over a white napkin and make the tobacco free from any possible clumps. Now loosely fill the bowel with the tobacco. Remember, you should not press tightly at the time of filling.

Lighting the Pipe

While keeping the pipe in between your lips, apply the light over the tobacco on a circular motion. Make very low puffs on the pipe. It is quite possible to see that the tobacco is swelling up or disentangling in the bowel.

Do not feel confused. This is absolutely natural and the main objective is to burn light. This also aids in removing excess moisture from the tobacco content so that the tobacco becomes prepared for True Light. After this lighting, it may be possible that the tobacco may not be positioned at the same level as it was before.

Now you need to meddle in order to evenly squeeze the tobacco back to the top of the bowl. If you are a beginner, you should put an extra effort at this time, because a majority of beginners make critical mistake at this point. Light up once again and apply it onto the tobacco in a circular fashion. Once again, you need to do low puffs so that the flame may properly stoke up. You can easily analyze your perfection at this point. If you see that the tobacco is not swelling up as before or it is not disentangling in the bowel, it means you have done it perfectly. So relax, take rhythmic puffs, and enjoy the moment.
